About

Altair Alpha Games is one developer, making games end to end.

The aim is small games that are actually finished: a world worth exploring, controls that feel right, and an ending worth reaching. Every release is played through again and again, and tuned until it feels right, before it ships.

The games lean toward atmosphere: night skies, old stone, pixel art and music made for each place. New ideas are tried freely, and the tools used to make each game are listed on its page.

The name

Altair, or Alpha Aquilae (α Aql), is the brightest star in the constellation Aquila, the Eagle, and the twelfth-brightest star in the night sky. On northern summer evenings it is easy to find, set between two fainter companions:

  • Altair, blue-white, the eagle's eye
  • Tarazed, orange, on one side
  • Alshain, pale gold, on the other

The three of them are the studio's logo.
